WELDED JOINTS VERSUS MECHANICALLY JOINED JOINTS?

WELDED JOINTS VERSUS MECHANICALLY JOINED JOINTS?

(OP)
I UNDERSTAND THAT IN ALL CASES IT DEPENDS. APPLICATION IS TRAILER INDUSTRY, HAS CYCLICAL LOAD AND SHOCK LOAD WHEN IN SERVICE IN THE FIELD. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON INFORMATION AVAILABLE FOR JOINT INFORMATION? ALSO, WHERE CAN I BUY THESE BOOKS: 1- FATIGUE STRENGTH OF WELDED JOINTS? ADDINGTON PUBLISHING, ENGLAND 2- IMPROVING PERFORMANCE OF WELDED JOINTS

RE: WELDED JOINTS VERSUS MECHANICALLY JOINED JOINTS?

Try using a book search service such as'kiwi@kiva.net'.

Also check ASME and ASTM for useful standards. Bill B.

RE: WELDED JOINTS VERSUS MECHANICALLY JOINED JOINTS?

Design of Welded Structures - Blodgett
Design of Weldments - Blodgett

Both resources are excellent.  They can be purchased from Lincoln Welding.

RE: WELDED JOINTS VERSUS MECHANICALLY JOINED JOINTS?

Further to ksuengrng's message, I also recommend "The Proceedure Handbook of Arc Welding", once again by Lincoln Welding.
