Thermoplastic composite or not?

Thermoplastic composite or not?

Thermoplastic composite or not?

(OP)
Hello all!

I am trying to find information on whether a thermoplastic composite, with perhaps a cabon additve, would be desirable over something like PVC for an ankel brace.

I know the carbon would make the material less dense, hence, less weight(without losing strength) but it would also make it more expernsive.

Can anyboy shed some light?

Thanks,

-LTOP

Are you an engineer or a student.

What type of work do you do.

You do not seem to have even a basic understanding of the materials you are talking about.

The lack of response to date is probably due to us not knowing were to start, or if we are doing someone else's homework for them.

Very few contributors here have the time or inclination to prepare a detailed lesson, starting from an elementary level.

Hello,

Thanks for the input...I am an engineer who is trying to find more information on plastics since they were not a major topic of study during my undergrad...and Thermoplastic composites are a relatively new area of reasearch so I am having trouble finding info on the web....

I thought, since I am a knew grad and not industry experienced someone who is more experienced in the plastics industry may be able to shed some light on the benefits of a thermoplastic composite over just polyvinyl chloride - if they even know - so I am not expecting too many replies, just from people who know what they are talking about

Any input would be great!

Thanks,

-LOTP

RE: Thermoplastic composite or not?

I found these and many others with a 5 min search using Copernic with Thermoplastic Composites "exact phrase".

Have you tried Google.

Do you have Copernic.
