Mathcad/AutoCAD Images

Mathcad/AutoCAD Images

Mathcad/AutoCAD Images

(OP)
I use Mathcad 7 and AutocadR14 (and now 2002).  I used to cut and paste images from AutoCADR13 into Mathcad6 and they looked decent with a white background.  In Mathcad7 and R14 they came in with a black background.

Basically, I want to include my AutoCAD sketches in my Mathcad documents with as little trouble as possible.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Does the newer Mathcad versions fix this?

Thanks

RE: Mathcad/AutoCAD Images

I have, on occasion, cut and pasted drawings from ACAD14 to other applications (Word, Excel) and I presume MathCad is similar (I do use MathCad).  I have always had to change the background color (to white as I usually use black)of the display area in acad prior to cutting and pasting.

RE: Mathcad/AutoCAD Images

You can create AutoCAD drgs in MathCAD in two different ways.

1. Insert an object.

Insert an AutoCAD object, create it from a file and link to the AutoCAD drg you're using. Otherwise Create From New.

2. Copy and Paste

In either option, to save changing the colours create a new layout with a monochrome setting and 'Show Plot Assingments' (I think, but you'll fnd it anyway, it's on the first page of Page Set Up). This shows a white background and black lines.

Then move to PaperSpace (in 2002 the layout you've created) and this will show a monochrome view of your drawing.

Hope this helps.

RE: Mathcad/AutoCAD Images

I've just noticed another thread that might be of use.

Try 'autocad object in mathcad'
