H2SO4 Corrosion Stainless Steels

H2SO4 Corrosion Stainless Steels

H2SO4 Corrosion Stainless Steels

(OP)
We were enquired on a new reactor to handle the following mix:
14.000 lt caju oil + 500 lt of H2SO4 (diluted 50%).
The oil goes first into the tank and then the acid is mixed.
The working temperature is 220ÂșC at 4 Bar.

Can anyone suggest a propper SS to use in the construction of the reactor? Considering the temperature is there a propper SS at all?

Thank you!

RE: H2SO4 Corrosion Stainless Steels

How much water is there?
What are the reaction products?
I presume that there is excess acid, how much?

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.
