Motor Circuit Analysis Equipment
Motor Circuit Analysis Equipment
(OP)
Hi all,
Would anyone chime in on what they think is the best measuring equipment for motor and motor circuit analysis? I've seen some engineers at our sister factory with portable oscilloscopes that cost close to 10,000 dollars, but I think that's overkill for motors.
Would a 300Mhz. bandwidth oscilloscope show me anything more meaningful than a 100MHz. bandwidth one would for motor circuits?
Thanks for any input!

I think the All-test stuff (BJM?) with Dr. Penrose is in that price range.

I've been looking at the alltest pro-31 instead of buying
a traditional megger. My use would be primarily for
troubleshooting motor control circuits, (electric crane)
5 to 125 hp, 480 - 3 phase.
Can you or anyone else give an opinion or suggestion.
I don't mind spending a little more to have something
that I can feel confident on the readings I am to get.
