SURFACE TO SOLID?

SURFACE TO SOLID?

SURFACE TO SOLID?

(OP)
Hi,
I have imported surface features that do not turn into solid bodies needed for section views on 2-d drawings. I'm using Solidworks 2005. Does anyone know the procedures for converting them?

Thanks,
Bob W.

RE: SURFACE TO SOLID?

BWASILEWSKI,

Depending on how complex all the surface bodies are you will need to knit them and then try to from them into a solid body. I have dealt with some imports that have gaps and things that need to be filled, connected etc. Bottom line is that it can be really tricky at times of implemting surfaces into solid parts.

What file type are you importing? It may also be a matter of changing your import settings to import into a solid body instead of surfaces.

Best Regards,
Jon
