How do I insert a named view in dwt for SW2005 ?

RE: insert a named view ?

thanks.
Insert/dwg view/model (or other view type)
Also, search SW help under named view.

RE: insert a named view ?

I normally have my assembly and part open.  I select Window > Tile Horizontal to see the assembly and part, then click the drawing where I want my view, Insert > Drawing View > Model, then click somewhere within my model window, then select which view I want in the left pane of my drawing (may need to scroll to see all, or use Tile Vertical with your windows--depends on screen size) and then click where you want your view.

I most often select "Current Model View", since its so flexible to get any view I want without necessarily saving a view.

RE: insert a named view ?

The only problem with using Current Model View is you cannot go back later and change it unless you know of a setting that allows this (which I would very much like to know since I sometimes work on drawings made by others that I need to change the view).

RE: insert a named view ?

I also stay away from non-named views. "Current Model View" is one and the others are all views that are automatically added using the "3 Standard Defaults". Although you do get a front, a top & a right, they are not named, therefore, they cannot be modified.
Whether or not you agree, I think both of these options have been removed in SW2006.
