Appropriate Testing for septic conditions

Appropriate Testing for septic conditions

Appropriate Testing for septic conditions

(OP)
During the installation of a french drain around the perimeter of a residence, water was encountered which appeared to be septic based on smell. We therefore have reason to believe that the septic tank is leaching.
We are also in the process of obtaining samples and sending to a lab for testing.

What tests would anyone recommend?

I plan on having a fecal coliform test and would like to have one of the OD tests. Which would you recommend? (COD or BOD)

RE: Appropriate Testing for septic conditions

You would be better of with the COD test. The COD test is less expensive than a BOD test and the results of a COD test are obtained much faster.
