Backpressure While Determining Discharge Head
Backpressure While Determining Discharge Head
(OP)
Hi,
When determining discharge head on pumping against backpressure in a vessel, do you add the pressure to the discharge head?? Also if the reactor had 5 psig reading, what fluid would you use for SG in the equation:
h(ft)=(2.31*p(psi))/SG
To obtain the static head due to the pressure in the reactor? Would you use water or the fluid you are pumping?
Thanks

RE: Backpressure While Determining Discharge Head
2)SG is the specific gravity of the fluid you are pumping(just assume that the pressure is created by the extra static discharge head to which the pumping fluid is to be raised).
