Neu file?

Neu file?

Neu file?

(OP)
Anyone ever hear of a .neu file extension? From what I could find it is some kind of ProE file but SW does not seem to recognize it. Is some kind of converter needed?

Thanks

RE: Neu file?

From what I found it was called out as a Mensi 3D Laser Scanner file. For a good reference on file extensions I use www.cknow.com

RE: Neu file?

Yes a neu file is a ProE file, I don't think you will be able to import in SW with it.. there may be a 3rd party app to allow this.
It's more of a between different releases of ProE thing
and I believe it doesn't retain the model tree, comes in as a import feature

RE: Neu file?

I second that Scorch a *.NEU files are Mensi 3D Laser Scanner File type.

RE: Neu file?

must be both... go to your open and export options in ProE and you will see it right there, called a neutral file ext. .neu
heres the header;

#UGC:2 NEUTRAL 972 440 0 0 0 15 2300 2001150 00000000 \
#- VERS 0 0

and it does come in as a import feature in ProE, like Iges or Step... so no tree

RE: Neu file?

Neutral files with .neu extension are also used by Femap for translating models between fea solvers.

RE: Neu file?

One thing that will really let you know that it is a ProE file is if it has a numeric on the end;

somefile.neu.5 or neu.4 etc.. I doubt the others throw on that pesky number at the end
