trying to replace 4L60E with 700R4

trying to replace 4L60E with 700R4

(OP)
I have read some interesting things you have said about a 4L60E I have destroyed the 3 and 4 clutch packs in 2 of these transmissions one twice.  I even switched from the original tranny (94) to the factory fixed one (96) I can explain how to install a circut to make that possible.  The problem I believe is that 2nd gear is tearing up 3 and 4 when I down shift through the gears (like passing) I know there are fixes for this tranny but because this car has done this to at least 3 different ones I am begining to wonder if some person has reprogramed the PCM and that is my problem. I have to fix my car so I can head back to school and I am wondering if there is something I don't know about that will make it possible for me to install a rebuilt 4L60E and be confident that it won't destroy it self.  Or am I right to just switch to a 700R4 thus eliminating the chance this is a PCM or bad ground issue as I have heard these trannys have.  The last question is if I switch to a 700R4 can I simply put resistors in line to make the computer think it is shifting the solinoids and how do I find out what elese I have to trick the computer with to make for the right paramaters for it to send the TC signal down so that I can have that lock up properly and lastly will the 12v 4L60E signal be ok to use on the 700R4?  Ok thats what I got I hope you will have some answers because talking to shops and dealers is a waste they don't even understand what I am asking.

Thanks A Lot
Philip
