Help! My Save Drawing As Dialog Box is Missing!

Help! My Save Drawing As Dialog Box is Missing!

Help! My Save Drawing As Dialog Box is Missing!

(OP)
I hope someone with a similar experience can help me.  You see, my Save Drawing As dialog box is missing, and I can't seem to find it.

Here's the situation.  Previously, when I want to save my AutoCAD work, I click on File, then Save, or File, then Save As ... and a dialog box appears where I see which folder I am working in, and type in a filename to save my work.

Now, whenever I click on File, then Save, the dialog box doesn't appear.  Instead, Command Line kicks in.  It has text like:
Command:_saveas
Current file format:AutoCAD 2000 Drawing
Enter file format: [R13(LT95)/RT14(LT98/LT97)/2000/Standard/DXF/Template] <2000>:

But No Dialog Box!It does the job ok, I can still save my files, but it is tedious. It really gets hairy when I try to open a file, because then, I have to type out the whole file name, and I am one of the firm believers of long file names!

I am thinking I may have "re-set" some settings for AutoCAD to do this, but I just can't figure out what.  Help.

I hope you all get a gist of my problem and can provide me some advice.  Thanks in advance.

RE: Help! My Save Drawing As Dialog Box is Missing!

Try filedia at the command line and set it to 1.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, sp1ke727.  I tried the filedia command and it worked!

I love these forums, and how sharing what you know can really make a difference for someone else.

Have a great day!
