can you make a multisegment curve become one segment?
can you make a multisegment curve become one segment?
(OP)
I am doing surface lofting with conic surfaces. When I make a tangent intercept curve, quite often it ends up being composed of a join of smaller curves. When I make the surface, it ends up with a corresponding patchwork of surfaces.
As a crude fix, I put a string of points along the tangent intercept curve, and use the spline function to make one curve.
There must be a better way.

This should use your curve as one segment

You could also try curve smooth in GSD and tick the box that says "topology simplification" or/and change the tolerance values.

Federation is a sub function(tab) under 'Join'
It's quite irritating not beeing able to see the pics in this forum. I just made a clean install on my old laptop but I still end up seeing no pictures in this forum (actually how do you post a screen capture in this forum? Catiav5forum.de is simple to use and pics are no problem why is it so tricky here? If it is a missing plug-in normally you would be prompted to install it?

I don't know what plug-in you would need for this. I have been posting .jpg files, linked from one of my websites. All of the processing should be done through the BB application, and delivered to your browser in a readable format.

I tried to link to an image that was on my c: drive, while Matt says he linked from one of his websites. Apparently that makes a difference??? Can you link to a harddrive?
Why can't we just copy & paste?
Thanks JuhaEdag for writing out the description of the Join tool!

- jackk,
Your little red X shows in it's Properties an invalid URL, http://c:/temp/federate.bmp
which shows the picture is on your hard disk instead of a web server.
It's not necessary to have your own website(s), just use one of the free image hosting sites, like Photobucket.com.
I tend to use Imagecave.com, there are plenty of them.
