installing V5R15/MULTICAx

installing V5R15/MULTICAx

(OP)
I installed V5R15 P2 and it seems to work fine. I just installed it from the CDs called CATIA P2 Solutions. However, there's another set of CDs, called CATIA/ENOVIA MULTICAx Products. I put the Windows version in the CD drive and it apparently started installing V5R15. Should I have started the installation with this CD instead of V5R15 P2 Solution?

What's the difference?

Thanks.

RE: installing V5R15/MULTICAx

No - you did just fine in your install.  And just for a friendly tip, don't ever waste any more space than you have to installing products that you don't need.  Catia is a heavy application, and if you don't have the license you waste hard disk space, in a big way.  You should always do a custom install.

For the information on MULTICAx, go here

Hope that helps.

Thanks solid7. V5R15 seems to be faster than R14 or maybe it's me getting older.

Watch out for the Memory Leak that has been reported over on the COE Forum.  Apparantly, R15 refuses to release memory when you close your parts, and will crash rapidly if you open and close a lot of files.

Wow, that's lovely.
I haven't seen signs of it yet.
