Test method sheet- various uses?

Test method sheet- various uses?

Test method sheet- various uses?

(OP)
I'm looking for a generally written testing sheet that can be filled in manually or electronically for a multitude of testing.  We run all types of spring tests, motor wear testing, corrosion testing, etc.  It's my opportunity (task) to write a general testing sheet that can be used for as many types of testing as possible.  Any good examples available on line or other?

thanks!!

RE: Test method sheet- various uses?

Hi eng1234,

It sounds like you are starting in the middle of a big project.  This is not bad, since alot of good engineering projects start that way, that is beginning in the middle and working both directions.

This sounds like part of a quality management system.  If so, look back upstream for the decisions on critical parameters and their effects on desired output quality.  This should be understood at least to some degree, that is you should at least be at the hypothesis level in the scientific method.  You need to document all of those for the various items you listed.  Once the parameters are sorted out then you can begin to model your test data documention and report system.

NIST has some guidelines for modeling your test data system to provide easy-to-interpret results.
