Formula not taking

Formula not taking

Formula not taking

(OP)
Just learning V5 so bear with me.

I created a simple formula, say length =100mm.  When I edit the dim in the sketch under Edit Formula the change doesn't take.  It returns to the old dim w/o the f(x) next to it.  Is this a setting issue.

Ross.

RE: Formula not taking

Well, being a nubbie, I was adding the formula name in the wrong spot.

Another question, I am from UG and we can change the value of the dim's on the fly.  Is there a way in Catia.  Now I am putting it in, locating click OK then double click dim to edit.  Is that the only way?

Ross.

RE: Formula not taking

Well, you can use the "sketch tools" toolbar, to define the geometry on the fly in a sketch.  It won't do you any good for dimensions, however.

RE: Formula not taking

Rossly,

I am also a UG persone so I know your pain.  In Catia you alwas have to add a step or a mousclick to do something easy.

If you are making user defiend perameter then you can chang it from the specification tree. under tools -> options -> infrastructure -> part infrastructure -> display and check peramiters. now you sould have somthing in you tree called peramiters and you can change the value their.
