Microstation 95 on Windows XP ?

Microstation 95 on Windows XP ?

Microstation 95 on Windows XP ?

(OP)
I am considering the purchase of a new computer and would
like to know if anyone has tried running Microstation 95 on
a Windows XP operating system. Or Windows 2000? thanks

RE: Microstation 95 on Windows XP ?

Microstation is NOT supported on windows 2000, I know this for a fact.
Loaded this for an employer on a 2nd machine.
There were freeze ups and hesitations, In another newsgroup I got admission from bentley that they do not intend to support MS95 beyond win98.
They all want you to upgrade to V8......

RE: Microstation 95 on Windows XP ?

For what it's worth, I loaded Microstation J onto a machine with XP and it appears to work fine (I've only worked with it a few times, but all systems appear to be go). Microstation 95 doesn't differ that much from J (and XP should be/is "smart" enough to run Windows 95/98 programs), but I would just call Bentley and ask them.

RE: Microstation 95 on Windows XP ?

as i know we can set the options in XP to run programs which doesnt support XP. it means we can show the operating system e.g. as win 95.  than xp pretend to be 95 and softwares run fine...
