350 kW Diesel Generator

350 kW Diesel Generator

350 kW Diesel Generator

(OP)
This is an old diesel generator. 4.16 kV, 350 kW, 80% Power factor. For setting the negative sequence overcurrent protection I need information on the negative sequence current capability of the generator. The manufacturer does not exist any longer. I would be greatful for some approximate data of a similar unit on the folloing questions:

Generator continuous current unbalance withstand capability, percent of rated current?

Generator negative-sequence current short-time withstand capability, seconds?

Thank you,

RE: 350 kW Diesel Generator

Negative sequence current withstand is defined by a constant K, where

K = (I2)^2 * T

K is normally supplied by the manufacturer. Typical is 30 to 40.

Also see thread238-92588 and ANSI C50.13.
