How to change Default Page Setup settings? Please help

How to change Default Page Setup settings? Please help

How to change Default Page Setup settings? Please help

(OP)
Hi everyone,

I need to change the default Page Setup setting, in "Resolution and Scale", so that it would select "Same as Window" (instead of default "Scale to 100%). I tried to change some settings in regedit, but no luck. What exactly do I need to change? I'm actually using SolidWorks 2005 Viewer, which has shared regedit page setup values like standard SolidWorks.
I need this to automate printing of over 500 files (with a seperate printing utility).

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Have you tried changing your default printer's settings?

Yes, but it doesn't have the options that I need to change (like in SolidWorks). Basically the problem is, that since by default it scales everything to 100%, some drawings get printed too small or too big (zoomed in). I need it to be set to fit and scaled to Letter Size page.

There is no way to save them in the Veiwer it just uses the default settings from the windows printer. SW isn't like AutoCAD, they don't have their own driver for Printers. The only place you can adjust this will be at the page setup of the printer. If it's not there then I am afraid your SOL.

I agree.

Scott,
To show on dwgs what software the dwgs are from, we show "SOL". We thought it was fitting.

I'm not trying to change the Solidworks files, I just want to change the default print setting of Solidworks Viewer.  I can see them in Windows' regedit, but I don't know how exactly to change them.  Basically, I have an automated utility which opens a bunch of files and just performs CRTL-P function.  By default, the SolidWorks 2005 Viewer is set to scale to 100%.  I need it to scale to window instead (which is available as an option in "Print Setup" of SW Viewer). Windows printer settings do not have an option to make SW Viewer fit drawing to Lettersize paper (or any other size paper).

Thank you for your support.

That is funny ctopher!

I know what you want, but you can't do that in SW and if you can't find it in the default printer settings you SOL.

Also, this doesn't sound like it's a SW question anymore. You are trying to hack the registry for windows. I don't think I would risk that, but if you wanting too, then try posting this in www.tek-tips.com
