In IV9 is it possible to dimension an arc length, and if so, how is this done?

RE: arc length dimension

I've moved on to V10 but I think that you pick the arc then right click & select arc length from the drop down menu.

RE: arc length dimension

in Inventor 9 use dimension the arc (radius or diameter) & right click.  You will see a drop down menu of choices including:  radius, diameter, angle, arc length.  Just pic arc length & you'll be all set.

RE: arc length dimension

I do not get these options with a right click. I get the following options:
Done
Diameter
Edit Dimension

Isometric View
How to...

RE: arc length dimension

Is there an arrow next to Diameter?  If so, then there is a drop down there, with options for diameter, radius, arc length, angle.

RE: arc length dimension

(OP)
No arrow next to diameter. When I select diameter, the dim changes to a diameter dimension and the right click options change to substitute radius for diameter. No other changes noticable.

RE: arc length dimension

In an IDW you can dimension it.  In an IPT (which you are in due to the options you described from a right click) you can use the formula for arc length (Angle*rad*pi/180) as a custom Parameter if you dimension the radius and the angle of your arc.  Otherwise there is not an arc length dimension.
