MS Drawing 1.01 - ??
MS Drawing 1.01 - ??
(OP)
We have here at the office a student version of mathCAD (2001 I believe) that an engineer brought in to show us that it came bundled with a program called Microsoft Drawing 1.01. In his student version, he can double click on a drawing we've embedded or created in MathCAD and edit the drawing directly with the program.
No other version I've seen of MathCAD can do this. Has anyone run across this before? I'd like to implement the MS Drawing utility on our other stations, it's actually quite helpful for making minor tweaks to drawings.

Mathcad used to be bundled with Smartsketch, but not any more.

I've tried digging up MS Office CDs and adding the feature in but still get the same error message. I'm not sure how I can incorporate this back into MathCAD...

It's also possible that the Mathcad installations are not fully functional. You may need to uninstall, reinstall with all associated service packs PRIOR to using Mathcad again.

RE: MS Drawing 1.01 - ??
I've been reading on this all day, and what I've found is that that cruddy little MS Draw program is OLD. Very old. Office 97 Old.
The thing is there's forums riddled with complaints such as mine that MS Draw just doesn't work any longer in applications whether it's MathCAD, Word or Excel. What's so great about it is that it can do discrete lines, has great snap features, is easy to use, and very cost effective. Unfortunately Microsoft seems to have phased this completely out of everything and though I've been messing with Registry keys and permissions all day, I can't seem to get MS Draw 1.01 to work on any other machine than his.
Thanks for the help, though.
