(OP)
Was wondering if anyone has experience with the effects of SO2 on austenitic 18-8 SS.

Im replacing about 1000 bolts, and want to know if I need to step up to 316 SS, or something with better corrosion resistance.  Price is the driving factor.

RE: SO2 and 18-8

Rwall, info I have on hand shows resistance is really dependant on concentration and expected moisture content. You'll need to get more specific.

Cheers

Rob
