Assemblies always loading lightweight

Assemblies always loading lightweight

Assemblies always loading lightweight

(OP)
I'm not sure what changed or what I changed, but every time I try to open an assembly, the Load Lightweight box is checked.

Is it possible to turn this off?  I always forget to uncheck the box and my assemblies load lightweight which I don't want.

RE: Assemblies always loading lightweight

Document Properties > System Options > Large Assembly Mode > then make sure Automatically Load Components Lightweight is unchecked.

I did verify that it is unchecked.  I still have the same issue.  Weird?  What's telling it to load lightweight?

RE: Assemblies always loading lightweight

There are other areas on where to check/uncheck Large Assembly mode - Try looking in the other options and see if unchecking it there helps - I don't have the locations in front of me.

RE: Assemblies always loading lightweight

There are two places that Lare Assembly mode can be checked at:

1. Tools-Options-System Options-Large Assembly Mode

2. Tools-Options-System Options-Performance

RE: Assemblies always loading lightweight

Halfmark,

If both of those locations that jksolid listed are unchecked the open dialog box will also be uncheck.  It's a good thing that SWx has commited to doing away with the "light-weight" parts.  We should see this in 2007 or if they do a 2006+.  A side note does anybody know why they have done a XXXX+ release in the past (98+, 2001+)

I had the box checked in Tools-Options-System Options-Performance.  I didn't realize it was in two places.

Thanks for the help!

RE: Assemblies always loading lightweight

mckeand13, this has been a subject of this forum several times--I even asked it myself once--so it's not as clear as it should be quite yet.

Heckler, SW used to have a policy (or at least used it in advertising) of having two major releases/year.  These releases had to be called something, so the second of each release had a plus after it.  They've since dropped the rigorous release schedule.

RE: Assemblies always loading lightweight

Jeff,

If I remember correctly they released 98+ instead of 99 then released 2000.  I remember 2000 being a nightmare one of the first years they integrated Excel in drawings.

Releases are approx every 10 months now. There may be a 2006+ for 64 bit at end of the year.
