SIMULATION: Forward Curved Centrifugal Fan

SIMULATION: Forward Curved Centrifugal Fan

(OP)
Dear all,

Where or how can a I get the ideal profile for the blades of a forward curved multivane impeller?

As far as I have seen, the blades are made with an arc profile. I think it is because of manufacturing reasons(sheetmetal)

I would like to make a study for the fabrication of a plastic impeller(PP, PA ...). Therefore, I could make any profile improving the efficiency.

Do you know where I can find a study of the optimal blade profile? which is the ideal shape? Any idea of how to make this study with Fluent or any CFD software?

Thank you very much in advance!

xmonroe,

This is a site that may have something "quick and dirty" available to play with.  There is a section on propellers within the Engineering Aviation section (primarily tip speed) and perhaps something in HVAC.
