If you install the Pre release, whenever 2006 SP 1 comes out, could you install the SP, or is it best to uninstall a Pre release and install the full version first?

RE: 2006 Pre release 1 is out

I attended a 2006 rollout last night, I am totally jazzed about the new features and functionality.  Some things that were interesting to me were:

Layout sketch and the ability to create a top down model based on the sketched elements.  This is somewhat like Pro/e's skeleton models.

VarPitch Helix is a nice addition for those of use that like to add detail to our models

The ability to create view states is an extremely powerful tool....and most likely the first one I will use.

I really like the industry specific enhancements - the plastic design tools bosses, and snaps will help

I forgot what they called it but it's like Pro/e simplified reps but only 10X more powerful.  This will help increase large assembly performance.

The enhancements to 3D sketching.  We were told that in the future 2D and 3D sketching will be one in the same.

DWGEditor being able to read and write to any version of ACAD.  This has to blow the lid off AutoDesk little secret.  Actually, a SWx corporate guy attended and said ACAD was "Window Dressing"

The overall performance increase within the software is interesting.  The said that "light weight" will be gone in the next version.  They didn't go into to much techie detail on this but it seems that the software is just loading surface representations of the model.  I'm not sure maybe somebody who knows can chime in here.

Anway, I think SWx set the bar again for 2006....it maybe out of reach for WildFire 3.0.  PTC is rolling out WF3.0...we will see.

I think you can't install an SP for a pre-release version of SW.
