Why would I consider pusuing this vs. an SE?

MLSE designation appears to be "in addition" to the records program, if the applicant meets the listed criteria. Certain licensed SE's may not qualify as MLSE due to slight shortage of units in college design courses.
The website doesn't really explain the benefit of acquiring this "designation".
There is another certification http://www.secertboard.org/
Not having this certification wouldn't affect any already licensed engineers, in my opinion.
