Calculating gpm without a flowmeter?
Calculating gpm without a flowmeter?
(OP)
I lost the formula for calculating gpm into a tank without the use of a meter. The tank is 50' dia. x 17' high (249551.5 Gals.) Is it right that by dividing 1 foot (14679 gals.) of water by the time it takes the clarifier to rise one foot would give me the gpm? Any help would be appreciated.

Otherwise, the flowrate can be approximately calculated if you know the elevational difference, one feet from the pipe discharging edge, between the top edge of the pipe and the top edge of water stream, provided the pipe is discharging horizontally.
