Timeshonko beam in Ansys?

Timeshonko beam in Ansys?

Timeshonko beam in Ansys?

(OP)
Dear members,

I am new to Ansys. Is there a beam element type considering the effect of shear deformation and rotational inertia. I would like to do a modal analysis of simple beam but the beam should be of Timeshonko type.

Please help me. thanks so much..

Luke

RE: Timeshonko beam in Ansys?

Elements 188 and 189 are of the Timoshenko (not Timeshonko) type including shear deformations, others in the library are available as an option. See the help file for more details. Rotational inertia is not an issue for these.

Drej,

Thanks for your help.

I hope I did not insult Timeshonko by calling
him Timoshenko.

Kind regards.

Luke
