exsting system Short circuit study

(OP)
Hi,

I am doing the short circuit study for an offshore project. The platform I am involed in is part of the entire system. There is another similar system about 5Km away from this platform. When I do the system study for this platform. Do I need to take that exsiting platform into consideration? My understanding is, if it is far enough. The Fault currents from that platform won't  contribue to this system where I am working on? Does that make sense?  Thank you in advance.

RE: exsting system Short circuit study

I would think you would want to model the entire system from a "macro" perspective, then use that data to model the system at the platform level.
