(OP)
How do I check the availability of the latest steel W-Sections?

What is the best most current resource on the net?

Thank you,

RE: Available Steel Sections

(OP)
W36x848 is not listed in the LRFD manual(third edition), but I happen to know it exists.
The problem is that I am not sure where to find it and who produces it.

W36x798 is listed in the LRFD manual(third edition), but it is not clear who produces it either.

The AISC link (http://www.aisc.org/Template.cfm?Section=Steel_Availability)
does not show all the sizes in the manual let alone the ones not listed in the manual.

Thanks again,

RE: Available Steel Sections

The 3rd edition is condensed to fit in one volume.  To accomplish this many of the less commonly used table and shapes were omitted to save space.  You will most likely find your shapes listed in the 2nd LRFD ed. if you have one.  Note that W36x848 is a Group 5 shape, W36x798 is a Group 4 shape, by Table 1-2 of the LRFD 2nd.  Maybe you can call a local fabricator and ask about availability for jumbo shapes.
