wheel on rails design

wheel on rails design

wheel on rails design

(OP)
I am designing a sliding door runner system.
I should be very basic and low cost.

The top rails wil be made of Aluminium and the wheels of a plastic.

Is there a book / website / manual or whatever that can help me engineer the above parts regarding loads, strengths, frictions choice of material etc etc ?

regards
Sander.

RE: wheel on rails design

This is a pretty common application. Check your competitors for what they used. My choise would be acetel. Use the design guide book provided by Celanese (Celcon) or Dupont (Delrin). They great books. Add glass if you want it stiffer and higher strength.
