PACKING FOR WAFER VALVES

PACKING FOR WAFER VALVES

PACKING FOR WAFER VALVES

(OP)
Hi. If it is used flangeness wafer valves, i.e. butterfly or check, must be installed packing? Is it necessary? If it is true, what type of packing?
Thanks in advance.

RE: PACKING FOR WAFER VALVES

I guessing that you mean gaskets, and not packing. The rubber-lined valves for applications like water service have the lining extend out onto the flange faces, and gaskets are not normally required. For other applications like steam service, the valves are all-metal construction, and gaskets are required.
