Hi

I am running AB 6.4 on XP sp1,FAT file system.
FAT can handle file size upto 2GB.

I noticed that once my my .STT file size exceeds 2GB the program terminates.

How can I reduce .STT file size?

Is there something like FREQ paramater for controling this file size?

RE: .STT file >2GB

You can reduce the size of your output files by:

1.- editing the Restart Requests (if you do not need them) and setting (OVERLAY=YES) and a bigger number for frequency of restart output.

2.- setting a bigger number for the frequency of field and history outputs.

By default the results are written after every increment.

A suggestion would be... to run Abaqus on a computer having NTFS ...
