Generator coupled

Generator coupled

(OP)
Does 'all Generators coupled' mean ' they are all in service'?

Thank you in advance.

RE: Generator coupled

GENERATOR COUPLED: would mean a generator shaft is connected to the shaft of the primemover such as an desiel engine. Eventhough, it was couple it wouldnt mean that they are ALL IN SERVICE as in the case it is on standby.
A GENERATOR COUPLED to a primemover would only be IN SERVICE when it is running to deliver a POWER.

RE: Generator coupled

swiminelectricity,

while I agree with fbcybil, I think what you said also means sense if you are talking of a document from grid authorities or some thing like that.

In the power grid parlance, the point at which a consumer or independent generator is connected to the grid is termed as point of common coupling.
