Pressure Vessel Software

Pressure Vessel Software

Pressure Vessel Software

(OP)
My company is thinking about purchasing pressure vessel design software.  Could anyone with experience please recommend a quality program with the following capabilities:

1) Pressure vessel design (head / shell thickness etc...)
2) Wind / Seismic design
3) Leg / Lug design (vertical vessels)
4) Saddle design (horizontal vessels)

The "Advanced Pressure Vessel" program from Computer Engineering has been recommended.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

RE: Pressure Vessel Software

Look into Compress while your at it.  Whatever you pick, make sure it's well supported by the software maker (addenda, upgrades, etc).

SteamJetPE
Ejectors, LRVPs, Hybrids
Troubleshooting, startup, design

RE: Pressure Vessel Software

I work in the oil and gas industry designing separation systems and similar equipment. Pressure vessels are used all the time in my work.

The most common software here is a package called 'finglow'

It is recognized as an industry standard.

Before buying, check which standards you will need to work to.

(asme V111 / PD 5500 etc are the most common to me)

RE: Pressure Vessel Software

Another is CodeCalc out of Houston

RE: Pressure Vessel Software

I used a program called EngineersAide once to design a pressure vessel for a still reboiler. It was very easy to use and I highly recommend it!

RE: Pressure Vessel Software

If you still looking forward for a software to do the tasks you need, like:
1) Pressure vessel design (head / shell thickness etc...)
2) Wind / Seismic design
3) Leg / Lug design (vertical vessels)
4) Saddle design (horizontal vessels)
you will find everything, and more, using the software package from CEREBRO. Take a look at www.cerebromix.com
Good luck.
