Power factor measurement.
Power factor measurement.
(OP)
We have two TB5400 units in our facility. Each unit has a meter that displays the power factor and load in MW.
While the load calculations in the facility is done using 0.8pf, I noticed that the pf readings for the two turbines are 0.8 and 0.9 respectively.
Does anyone know why this is?
How do i derive a realistic pf from these readings, if it is possible?

RE: Power factor measurement.
If you are operating in parallel with the grid, the generator power factor can be different than the plant's power factor.
Also, just because load calcs are done using 0.8 pf, I would not assume this has any correlation to the actual power factor.
