Extension lines Can't turn off 1 of 2?

Extension lines Can't turn off 1 of 2?

Extension lines Can't turn off 1 of 2?

(OP)
Hello,  I am dimensioning an arc in SW2005 sp2.0 and want to show it as a dia. dimension. It throws out two extension lines and I want to turn the second one off.

I open dimesion display dialogue box and
"extension lines" "
"dispay first" is checked
"dislay second" is checked

but this part of the box is grayed out I can't pick anything? any suggestion?

Thanks in advance, Jeff

RE: Extension lines Can't turn off 1 of 2?

Have you right-clicked the dimension (Properties) and selected the "show as Diameter" option?  If it's an arc, it should be a radius right now.

After Theophilus's suggestion, try: uncheck "display first" and leave "display second" checked. You may have to play with checked boxes to get desired dim.

Jeff,  I want to show it as a diameter. (which produces 2 extension lines)

Chris,  I can't pick em (grayed out) meaning un-selectable.
Can you pick them on your screen?

RE: Extension lines Can't turn off 1 of 2?

I can. It also depends on the type of arc you have. How was it created? You may have to create a note with leader.

RE: Extension lines Can't turn off 1 of 2?

Yeah, I was thinking of a single arrow with a leader going to the radius dimension initially.  I've seen the double leader going to the tangent edges of a circle before in dimensioning a diameter, but that seems a tad kludgey.  Is that really what you prefer?  If you can use a single leader/arrow, I think you can convert the radius dimension to a diameter dimension as I mentioned above.  If you need the second leader, I'm not sure how to do it.

If you can do the single leader, but already have a double leader, the only way I know to get the single leader is to snap the dimension again and place the dimension in a different area (diagonal from center) and then move it where you want it.  Then convert to a diameter dimension.
