Issues with LDD 2005

Issues with LDD 2005

(OP)
Since we have installed 2005 on all our machines, we have had numerous issues with this software, i.e. "undo" taking a very long time to complete, and a host of other problems.

One in particular is driving me up the wall..copy and paste. Is there any variable I can set that will stop Acad from regenerating everything everytime I paste something into a drawing. I have already turned off the regen variable (0) and regenauto, yet the regen's keep on coming. They are really biting into my time. Can anyone tell me how to stop this thing from doing this?

I have so many compaints about this software, that I'll just have to post things as I go along.

BTW, most all of our machines are 4-5 gigs with 1028 m of ram. Is this not enough for the new Autocad?

RE: Issues with LDD 2005

Just a quick question.. are you copying and pasting within a single drawing or are you copying and pasting between separate drawings?

Actually both...sometimes between drawings and sometimes from one layout to another. I just can't stop all the regenning everytime I do it.

And, don't get me started on the UNDO command...uggghhh!! It's like it's reevaluating every facet of every line, circle and x-ref just for one undo. It's really driving us crazy around here.

I see a variable LAYOUTREGENCTL, could this be it?

I tried that a few moments ago and it seems to have solved the problem. Thanks.

I'm sure I'll have more issues to post about this 2005 software though.
