IEC short circuit study by SKM

IEC short circuit study by SKM

(OP)
I am doing a short circuit study for Middle East. But there is only ANSI comprehensive study Module available in our SKM software.I tried to change the application  to IEC and 50HZ, but there are no related IEC data available in SKM liabrary.Does it really matter if I use the impedance data and utility data under 60HZ? How to manipulate in this case?

RE: IEC short circuit study by SKM

As a minimum, your software needs to allow you to enter actual system frequency and adjust the reactances accordingly.

Also, the IEC short circuit equations used for determining breaker duties are not quite the same as the ANSI standards, so you might have to do those calculations external to your program.

RE: IEC short circuit study by SKM

SKM does provide IEC fault calculation modules for a couple of IEC standards.  It would be additional cost, but you would have the software doing the full calculation.
