(OP)
Does anyone have the allowables for a Boeing BACB30US14-24M tension Fastener The UTS and Material Type would be a good Start.

Thanks in advance

RE: Boeing BACB30US14 Specification

I could only get to the title of that specification but the title for BACB30US may help you:

"Bolt, 12 point head, 220 KSI min tensile, 125 KSI min shear, nickel alloy 718 (nominal and oversize)"

If my previous experience with Boeing standards holds, the "14" in your part number indicates the thread size (but I don't know which size) and the "-24" in your part number is the grip length in 0.0625" increments.  Don't know the significance of the "M".

RE: Boeing BACB30US14 Specification

The "14" is the bolt diameter in 32nd's.  Therefore, the diameter is 7/16.  The "24" is the grip length in 16th's.  Therefore, the grip is 1.5 inches.  I don't remember the significance of the "M", either.

RE: Boeing BACB30US14 Specification

BACB30US
Nickel Alloy 718 per AMS 5662 or 5962
14 = .8750-14 nominal thread size
dash "-" = Passivated per AMS-QQ-P-35, type optional
24 = 1.5 nominal grip length (24 x .0625)+/-.010
2.468 thread length + 1.5 grip for total length of 3.9689 +/-.015
M = grip length marking required
no locking feature (not drilled)

for tension applications where high strength, fatigue resistance and toughness are desirable.
600 degree F max service temp

RE: Boeing BACB30US14 Specification

hombre,

Bolts are designated in 16ths for diameter, whereas rivets are designated in 32nds.

You're right... I stand corrected.
