PLT Files To Large
PLT Files To Large
(OP)
I am trying to email PLT files to an imaging company to print. The files were created from a CAD file that is under 1MB. I am creating a PLT file for each layout (two total). Each PLT file is over 10 MB with some as high as 40 MB. I am using CAD 2000. The files should not be this big should they?

I plot with the HP750c driver into a *.plt-file. I think the images are the problem...

RE: PLT Files To Large
My drawing contains several standard details that I inserted using raster images. I created the image by scanning the detail, editing it in powerpoint and then saving as a picture file (jpg). The jpg file is not that large (84kb). For some reason this technique is making my plt files huge (50 MB).
Can someone provide a better way to add predrawn details to my drawing? Looking for anything that will help at this point. I talked to the imaging company and they normally get plt files that are under 3 MB with similar information and details.
