Urgent Help on the use of ABAQUS
Urgent Help on the use of ABAQUS
(OP)
hi,
I am using ABAQUS for the FEA of tapered cantilever with cellular openings. Currently I am stuck in 2 parts:
1. I need to input a non-linear stress-strain curve to the material properties. Basically the coordinate points of the curve are available but I dunno how to access the command interface to input
2. I need to investigate the effect of varying geometric propoerties of the tapered beam. Would the 'parametric study' function in the ABAQUS be useful? I dun have any concrete knowledge in ABAQUS command and the study has to be completed in 2 week's time. Would that be enough?
I am grateful of your help.
regards,
Sunny

RE: Urgent Help on the use of ABAQUS
1. to input a non-linear stress-strain curve to the material properties, steps are
1. module property
2. create material in the material manager
3.machanical plasticity
4.plastic-->enter values of stress and strain on the table

RE: Urgent Help on the use of ABAQUS
As far as input for the stress/strain curve, you are only inputting the PLASTIC strain. This means using the nominal strains to calculate the plastic strains - which is a logarithmic function that I'd have to review in the documentation. Check out the section in the documentation about plasticity.
I WOULD NOT attempt to forge ahead with the "parametic study" capability using scripting unless you are already familiar with this. ABAQUS CAE is relatively simple to create variations in geometry to create multiple models.
