another Solidworks explorer question

Can you remap a parts location in SW explorer?  Will an assm know where to find it when you open the assm?

SW 2005 SP3.0

thanks
Grant

RE: another Solidworks explorer question

Not directly, you can only Rename, Replace or Copy a document. So you would have to first Copy the part to its intended resting place, then Rename it (because you can't replace a part with a part of the same name), then do a Replace. If necessary do another Rename to get the part back to its original name.
It sounds a lot but is really very quick & simple.

For now I think I'll just drag and drop.  Only one part needs moved (changed the part # therefore it's saved in another location).

Thought you would be able to remap a location with in explorer easily.

Thanks Cor
