I have SW2005 sp3 on an xp machine. The explorer will not work, it will load, the graphics will "shift" then not respond. I can open pull down menus but am no able to select a  task. The explorer problem is on two xp machines. I have reloaded SW2005 and SolidWorks Explorer to try to fix. Any suggestions?

I have followed the clean update proceedures from the SW website including deleting all registers etc. Tech support is working on this as well. I have two installations that have this problem. Anti-virus was off. I followed all the rules.

RE: solidworks explorer lockup

What other Apps do you have running while SW and/or SW explorer are running?

What are your Specs (PC)?

Turn off all your add-ins, to see if there is a conflict between them.

SW tech support to the rescue.
I had to right click on the desktop, go to properties, settings, advanced, trouble shoot, hardware acceleration and set to none. This solved my problme. Thank you for your effort!

RE: solidworks explorer lockup

That probably means your video card is not up to snuff.
What card are you using?

ATI Fire GL 8800 V6.12.

RE: solidworks explorer lockup

(OP)
ATI GL 8800 version 6.12.10.3056 I believe this is approved and current drive on the SW web.

RE: solidworks explorer lockup

maybe switch your video card setting from openGL to SolidWorks?

SBaugh (Mechanical)
Then you should call ATI and ask them because it maybe a bad card. - because of setting that option you have essentially turned your Video card off and you will take a performance decrease because of it. If you have the approaved card and driver (Which you do), then it should work if it doesn't then the problem is obivisously hardware, because you toggled that option.

ATI is your next person to contact.
