Assemblies and Hide/Show

(OP)
Recently we upgraded our release level from V5R13 SP9 to V5R14 SP3 and have noticed a difference in the way the Hide/Show command works.

V5R13 SP9: You could hide individual parts within the assembly by selecting the parts within the tree or from the screen. If you wanted to bring everything back from the hide area all that was required was to hide and unhide the top level CATProduct. Plus all the CATPart icons within the assembly would either gray out or not depending on weather the parts were hide or not.

V5R14 SP3:  You still can hide individual parts within the assembly by selecting the parts within the tree or from the screen. If you wanted to bring everything back from the hide area you have to individual select the parts to unhide them. This can become a very tedious process depending on the size of your layout and it’s very easy to miss a part if it’s buried about 6 CATProducts in. Plus if you hide the top level CATProduct the CATPart icons within the assembly don’t gray out as they did in R13. If I select a solid feature from the screen to hide, the PartBody, and CATPart doesn’t gray out only the features that were selected grays out.

I don’t know if this is the way Dassault Systemes meant it to work or if this is a bug. If I had my choice I would like it to return to the way it was in R13.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior or has any addition information please reply.

Thank You in Advance
Tsqman
