Flow through stationary circular pipe
Flow through stationary circular pipe
(OP)
I am studying flow through stationary circular(round) pipe. The fluid enters the pipe with a constant velocity. the two surfaces of the pipe experience a pressure difference, the inner surfsce that of p and the outer surface P+dp. Due to this pressure gradient and the tendency of the liquid to flow from a region of high pressure to low pressure, the fluid flows from the outer rim to the inner rim. At steay state one can observe that closer to the inner rim we have liquid of high velocity and at the outer rim low velocity. How is this kind of flow suatained throughout the pipe. a velocity contour plot does not show any back mixing or secondary flows anywhere. can anyone explain this phenomenon?

It will be a phenomenon if anyone can understand this query and be able to explain it to others. I'm on my second aspirin and still trying.

Montemayor's Theorem , Law, Paradox , Hypothesis, Surmise, Postulate, or just a plain old SWAG

With your coup-de-grace, I am at my wit's end
What surprised me was that this was dormant in your careful and corrective posts. I found it in two of your posts the same day. You must be feeling pretty tired. I should confess that I did enjoy it however.
