Fineblanking in a tube wall

Fineblanking in a tube wall

Fineblanking in a tube wall

(OP)
I am designing a bayonet joint between two pieces, like an automotive taillight bulb/socket, except "inside-out". That is, the pins are in the "socket", engaging features machined into the "base of the bulb".

In the past I have used pressed-in dowel pins in the outer piece, but I'd like to try fineblanking this feature instead. This would involve blanking a pin of about .100" dia in the 1/8" thick wall of a tube of about 1.25 ID.

Anybody have enough experience with fineblanking to know if this is even feasible?

Thanks.

RE: Fineblanking in a tube wall

I need a drawing, at SEKAM Technologies we do have a way to fineblank/ Fine Cold Form a tubular stock.
