RE: Project Management theory
My exact resurch is for organisation of companies which act by project. (Ex. construction companies)
How shall be their organisation, management system, structure, multi-project management....
RE: Project Management theory
You know , you better start with developing your OC (Organization Chart)
for project oriented organizations we usally use the matrix form of OC in which you will have different PM who will report to a senior PM ,
PMs will recive technical / supportive services from other teams (Design , Logistic , Accounting ,...)
and teams will be sectionized into projects - they'll work like independent firms who recieve orders from different project managers
RE: Project Management theory
But is there any difference between OC for companies performing construction project (Ex. Cunstruction of Electrical power plant...) from ones performing Product project.

Part Four "ORGANIZING"
Chapter 11 "ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE, COORDINATION, AN DESIGN"
This provides a good overview of various organizational structures.
RE: Project Management theory
There are several possible forms and what works for one organization may not work for another because of culture, ownership or goals.
Other posters are correct that you really need to look at options and influences before choosing one on limited information.
