How to show threads in 2D?

How to show threads in 2D?

How to show threads in 2D?

(OP)
I am looking to make threads in a 2D drawing. How do I show threads in orthographic projections of a part? Is there a special feature for this? How about making a countersink?

Thanks to all the readers.

RE: How to show threads in 2D?

There are many add-on programs to do this and AutoCAD Mechanical has this built in.

I don't have any add-on programs and can't really afford to purchase one. Are there any add-on programs that come with a free-trial kinda period?

I don't have Mech Desktop either.

any suggestions?

RE: How to show threads in 2D?

Can't you just copy the manufacturer screws
or bolts and trim off the heads of the thread
if it is the only portion you want.  Will the
plane be the centerline of the screw thread?
