Is it possible to place on a formed head outside 0,8*De?
Is there any particular limitation?
Vessel is to be code-stamped as per Section VIII, Division 1..
If it is not possible, in which paragraph of the code is the limitation present? I can't find it, even if my chiefs believe the limitation do exist..
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

RE: Nozzles location
In the case where a nozzle is within the 80 % diameter limit then, the required thickness of the head is equal to that of a seamless sphere of radius K1*D, where D is the shell diameter and K1 is given by Table UG-37.
I hope that helps.

RE: Nozzles location
I must admit I have a lot of problems on ASME code; both because I'm a young engineer and because I am italian (and we use VSR code, which is far more rigid). I believe ASME Code is really not user friendly; there are too many exceptions to the rules presented, and these exceptions are written in the most disparate places.
But I believe, as was stated in the thread, "Gray hairs will come quickly". Doesn't matter if a thing is easy or not; with time, anything can be learned (hey, I managed to get a degree after all!)
Thanks for the chance to have an insight of ASME world:)
